The Lakeridge PTA strives to support and enrich our children’s academic and social education experience through PTA programs and events. The PTA also keeps parents informed through the parent pack and Lions’ Roar newsletter email. Support your school, become a member or volunteer today!

Let’s Get to 100% Participation – Donate to the Lakeridge Ask!

The Giving Tree in the school lobby is filling up with apples of families who have donated to the Ask. Our goal is 100%
participation and currently 67% of families have participated. The main purpose of the PTA Ask is to fund 17.5 hours a day of learning support staff, which is roughly the salary of 3 paraprofessionals!

What is learning support? Learning support staff are the paraprofessionals that provide
specialized assistance to both teachers and students. These staff members provide
concentrated 1:1 or small group learning, which in turn aids the main classroom teacher in
providing an excellent educational environment for all students.

Why is the Ask necessary? The state of Washington does not fully fund basic education. It is critical for us to come together as a community to support our children in order to provide them with the excellence in education that we expect.

The goal of $116,000 for the PTA Ask is based on the donation of $275 per student and 100%
participation from each family. Thank you to all those who have already donated! We hope you
and your child were proud to see your apple on the Giving Tree.

Parent Representative Needed for District Committee

The District Instructional Materials Committee meets five times each year: October, January, March, May and June. The meetings last anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the volume of new curriculum materials presented. The IMC is comprised of teachers, students, administrators and parents from across the entire district. We need a parent from Lakeridge to sit on the committee and help review proposed new curriculum materials.  Please contact Lisa Deen if interested.
