Nominations Open for 2017-2018 PTA Executive Committee

If you, or someone you know, is interested in serving in the PTA Executive Committee, please email one of the Nominating Committee members or complete the nomination form by Friday, February 3rd.  Nomination forms are also available in the front office.  Please contact any member of the Nominating Committee (Ellen Marks, Dawn Dunn & Liz Carson) to learn more.

Movie Night for Kids, Night out for Parents

Friday, February 3, 6-8:30 pm
Lakeridge Multipurpose Room (Gym)
Who knew the magnificent and amazing things pets can do! Come and watch The Secret Life of Pets at Lakeridge. Bring your child to this fun event and stay or take a night off. All Lakeridge students are welcome to come enjoy pizza and a movie. Your child might want to bring their favorite stuffed animal, blanket and/or a pillow.
RSVP for this event and/or sign up to volunteer through SignUp Genius.
Cost includes movie, pizza, popcorn and red vines. Water will also be provided.
Checks payable to ‘Lakeridge PTA’ with ‘Movie Night’ in the memo line should be submitted to the Lakeridge office prior to the event. $15 for 1 child, $25 for 2 children, $35 for 3 children and $40 for 4 or more children. Please contact Chouchan with any questions about the event.

Celebrate World Cultures at International Bazaar Night

The Lakeridge International Bazaar Night is a wonderful way to experience the cultures of your friends and classmates. There are many countries represented through food, pictures, games, drinks, music, and maps! If you have a country or culture you’d like to share, make sure to sign up to host a booth. Dance and music performances will be on stage. Interested in helping in general or sharing your family’s cultural heritage?  Please contact Rachel Yu or Eliana Caputo.

Bonus! Your Child Can Learn a Bollywood Dance Routine

Sonal Nyati, mother of a Lakeridge kindergartner, volunteered to choreograph a Bollywood dance routine for this event. Up to 20 children are welcome to participate. Practices will be be 4-4:45 pm after school or 7-7:45 pm at the Community Center (exact location TBD). Please contact Sonal Nyati to learn more.

Science Fair is coming March 31st!  Join the fun!

The Lakeridge Science Fair will be held Friday, March 31, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm and we need your help to make this event a success!  No science background is required — all we need is your energy and enthusiasm.
The Science Fair is a great way to enrich science at Lakeridge and is completely run by volunteers. It is open to all students to participate. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the Science Fair Co-Chairs.  Meeting times begin in late January, and are flexible — we can accommodate members of the planning committee.

Mandatory Yearly Volunteer Training

All volunteers must complete volunteer training every school year. Please visit the Mercer Island School District webpage to complete your volunteer training. You will not be able to volunteer until you complete all the necessary steps.

School Calendar for 2016-2017 School Year (and beyond)

The Mercer Island Education Association (MIEA) and the District reached an agreement on the 2016-17 through 2018-19 calendars (three school calendars). The calendars are posted on the District website on the Student Calendar page.
